Loading dots don't disappear

Hi all,

I have created an app whose datasources are SharePoint Lists. One of them has more than 1000 records and 150 columns, but I just use 20 of them. My problem is that I have created several galleries with combobox and toggles that I use to update several fields on change of this controls and the loading dots on top of the screen don't disappear, what means it is continuously loading something. I have tried with a button for each item of the gallery to just using the patch function when pushing, not on change of the combobox and toggles, but the loading dots keep appearing. In spite of this, the modifications take place. This is one example of the code I'm using:

Patch(AhaIdeas,
ThisItem,{GD_ExpertDecision:
{Value:GlobalExpertDecision.Selected.Value,
'@odata.type': "#Microsoft.Azure.Connectors.SharePoint.SPListExpandedReference"}
})

Anyone knows what could be happening?

Thank you in advance!

Hi @fernandocxv

No, it is not refreshed by itself. The data source will get refreshed only when the refresh action is performed. But the records added via patch will be added to it.
Ex:
You have 5 records, and you added one and one of your colleague added one, so you won't be able to see the changes by your colleague until you refresh the data source and this needs to be done on some action.

Hope this Helps!

Hi @fernandocxv

The loading dots appear when there is a request which is still in process. Based on the size of the datasource,  would recommend you to get data only for those 20 columns which you are using, please enable the below feature and revert back if this helps.
App Settings -> Advanced Settings -> Explicit column selectionMicrosoftTeams-image (46).png

Hope this Helps!

Thank you @yashag2255,

I have enabled this option but it goes on happening. I have thought of create a collection with the columns and rows I need, and when I change something, use the Patch function. However, I should refresh the collection in order to have the most updated data and this could be very slow. Any suggestion?

Hi @fernandocxv

Yes you can load the data in a collection. Instead of refreshing the whole collection again, I would recommend you to perform same operation on the collection also. You can do a concurrent patch on both the data source and the collection. This way the records will be added/updated in the local collection without having to load all the 1000 records. This way the collection will only be loaded from scratch when the app is refreshed.

Expression:
Concurrent(
Patch(DataSource,Defaults(DataSource),{Name:"sdf"}),
Patch(LocalCollection,Defaults(LocalCollection),{Name:"sdf"})
)

Hope this Helps!

Thank you @yashag2255!

I have a question: every time you use patch, ¿is the datasource refreshing?

Thank you in advance!
