MS Form into Power Apps

Apologies newbie question time is it possible to use/import an existing MS Form I have created and transform into a canvas app ?

Reasoning behind my logic, I utilise the branching functionality in the Form to ask a question then dependant on a simply yes or no I hide the next x questions and move to another question and follow the same approach. Once finished and submitted I then have a Power automate flow to grab the submission and create a raw MS Word document with some of the responses captured. 

I assume that is possible with an app but not having created one before not sure how to even go about it.

Is this possible or would I have to build from scratch?

I may be missing something in your use case, but is there any reason, why you cannot just use the branching feature in forms and then do everything you have outlined in Power Automate.. starting off with the following steps?

You can build an app to do this, but as I see it you can achieve the exactly what you want with ootb Forms and Power Automate.

One thing to look out for is if you are using the word online  connector, this is a premium connector, so requires premium licencing. If this is going to be an issue, maybe go for the automatic creation of html adn convert to PDF with power automate - if this isn't an issue, it's easier to go with the word.

@AmDev thanks for the reply and the heads up on the premium call out for the connector. Have managed to tweak the form to suit my needs and have got it creating the document I need.

One further question if I may is it possible to select a previously submitted capture and apply the same logic to it (i.e. I have some data that I entered via the form previously but did not have the generate document phase to my flow and would like to generate the output as per my new flow?)

Me thinking out loud the flow is based on the submit function of the form so I wouldn't be able to just cut and paste the row in the Excel sheet again?

Hi @JasonM73 

You could create a variant of the flow, which uses either of the following manual triggers to run the flow for the selected item (SPO) or for a selected row (Excel), subject to where you item currently sits. This would be good in circumstance where it's the odd item that needs this retrospective process.

If it's a lot of retrospective items, you could just have a manual button trigger and then either use the Get Items (SPO) or get rows (excel) to get the items you want to retrospectively process. In this bulk approach, if your data set includes previously processed and unprocessed items, you would need to be able to filter the dataset down some how to just process the rows still outstanding, so ideally you have a column in there that distinguishes between processed / unprocessed and then use that in the Filter query as shown below under the advanced options for both excel and SPO options.

Thanks for the help on this and helping me get my mind around the notions, I am getting there slowly. Is it possible to call/reuse parts of my existing flow or do I have to recreated from new?

No problem - yes you can do a save as on your flow and modify the copy for the retrospective scenario and/or you can simply copy actions using the three dots on the action adn then go to the my clip board when inserting an action to see what you have copied there as an option to insert in your other flow as shown..

Note if copying lots of actions, the most efficient way is to put all your actions inside a scope container and then just copy the scope incl content across in one go.
