Power Apps file upload validation

Hi,

I need help for the following validations.

I have a file upload control with the name UploadFileControl, I want to perform 2 validations

1) To check if the uploaded file is PDF format. If not, throw an error message to user. "Please upload only PDF files"

2) To check if the file size is smaller than 1MB. If not, throw an error message to user. "File size is exceeding 1 MB"

For the second one, simply set the MaxAttachmentSize to 1.

For the first one, put on OnAddFile

The max attachment size can be done by setting the MaxAttachmentSize property of the attachment control to 1.

The pdf requirement is a bit tricker. We can use:

Upper(Right(Last(ctrlAttach.Attachments).Name,3)) <> "PDF"

This condition could used to set the visibility of a label or the display mode of a button to enable/disable the button, but this only works with the last attachment. If there is only one attachment, then this works. If the user is uploading multiple, then we need to do a bit more, and this gets a bit tricky as the user can remove any of the attachments at any time. 

There's probably a more efficient way, but this works for me:

I put the above in the OnAddFile and OnRemoveFile events in the attachment control. This means that any time a user adds or removes a file,  it looks at all attachments, creating a collection that contains the extension (the last 4 characters of the file name). It then runs a distinct on the collection to get rid of duplicates, and creates a single string with whatever is left. The last step is to create a variable named varAttachmentsAreValid that is true or false, depending on if only thing in the list of distinct file extensions is .pdf. varAttachmentsAreValid could then be used for the visibility of labels or to control whether buttons are enabled.

Thanks for your reply I was looking a similar requirement wherein the uploaded file check should be in .xlsx format (Excel) so I made the necessary changes.
I had one additional requirement which was as follows:
In Power Apps using attachment control user can upload the file and the contents inside are extracted with the help of Power Automate wherein the uploaded file contents are extracted and then stored in a SP list (which has columns similar to that in Excel file) basically I am importing data from excel and storing in my data-source

In Power Apps I have provided an download option which users can use to download the Excel template in which they can enter the necessary details and upload the file (to avoid any discrepancies in the structure), the template is:

So now once user uploads the file before the extraction process starts I want to also check if the file which is uploaded is similar to the template if yes continue the normal flow else give an error message saying the file format is mismatch and stop the process.
