Refresh Dataflow in PowerApps via button?

hello Everyone,

So i've created my first dataflow, it uses PowerQuery Online, to query data from a .CSV file on OneDrive, perform some transformations, then Load the data into an Entity.

The dataflow is set to refresh manually.

I would like to refresh the dataflow via a button in a PowerApp.

do you know how to do this?

thank you

Hi @Cam ,

Do you want to refresh dataflow inside PowerApps app?

I'm afraid it's not supported in PowerApps currently.

I suggest you express your views about adding this function on PowerApps Ideas Forum. Your precious feedback will be very helpful for our work.

For now,you can only configure a dataflow's refresh schedule when creating the dataflow to indicate how frequently it should run.

Here' a doc about schedule  refresh for yoru reference:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/refresh-scheduled-refresh

Hi @Cam ,

Did you endup posting an idea/request for the feature?  I would absolutely vote for it!

Hello Molegris,

the first link below is probably the most appropriate, the second/third links are more related to PowerBI Dataflows (instead of PowerApps Dataflows).
...not sure if these are the same thing, i assumed they are different.

Once its possible to be done in PowerAutomate, you could connect the flow to a button in PowerApps.

here you go:

  • Refresh PowerApps Dataflow via PowerAutomate Action.

https://powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/Power-Automate-Ideas/Add-Refresh-Dataflow-action-to-the-Common-D...

  • Refresh PowerBI Dataflow via PowerAutomate Action.

https://powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/Power-Automate-Ideas/Refresh-a-Dataflow-built-in-action/idi-p/70...

  • PowerAutomate Trigger upon completion of PowerBI Dataflow refresh.

oh.. i just realised that first idea was posted by you xD

sorry.
