Send current screen in an excel format as an email attachment

Hi all. Please can you assist with this. My boss is driving me crazy and just when you think you're done with an app, he comes with a new requirement 😞

Currently, I have this on the OnSelect property of a button which work perfectly by sending the current screen as a pdf, attached to an email

Office365Outlook.SendEmail( User().Email; "WeeklyRatiosReport_CoreWealth"; "Dear Advisor, Please find attached your Weekly Goal Tracker Report. Thank you."; { Attachments: Table( { Name: "AdvisorWeeklyRatiosReport.pdf"; ContentBytes: PDF (RatiosScreen_1) } ) } ) + Navigate(SuccessScreen_1)

However, I need it sent in an excel format, attached to an email. Is there a way to change the above formula to make it happen, perhaps, please?

Could you please explain your question more specifically? What do you mean by send in an excel format? How will a screen be added to an Excel file, as an image?

Apologies, you're correct. That won't be possible as it was with a pdf.

If I have multiple labels then on a screen, would I first need to somehow add that to a data table and then do a csv & power automate thing to get the file to a csv format, attached to an email and sent to the user?

If yes, how do I get a whole bunch of labels into a data table?

Should I rather create a new topic for this question?

Hi @LugenG ,

If on the screen the controls are all displaying some field values of a single record from a data source, you can simply create a variable to store this record in JSON format and pass to power automate flow to generate the csv file. Or, if is a specific item from data source with a known ID, you can pass the ID to a flow, get the record from data source using ID, then create the csv table.

I think I'll be able to get the Power Automate Flow right to generate the CSV and send a mail with the CSV attachments, so that should be ok.

So it's 38 text labels that is not in a table or gallery or anything that I want to create a variable out of for this JSON to CSV thing to work.

Can this be done in one variable with a button control whose OnSelect property activates the variable?

Or do I need to somehow add these 38 text labels to a custom table or something so that I can set one variable?

Please advise, much appreciated.

Hi @LugenG ,

It's not necessary to use variables. In Power Automate flow, you can add 38 text input fields, set different field names, then trigger the flow in your App OnSelect of the button:

Flow.Run(Label1.Text, Label2.Text, ...., Label38.Text)
