Sorting by date not showing any results

I have a table that has appointments stored in an excel sheet.

The table is organized by date the appointment is scheduled and not for when the appointment is scheduled for.

The table has an appointment date;

Formatted in excel at "yy-mm-dd" but imports as text in powerapps

and appointment 'start time';

originally formatted as Text(ThisItem.'start time', DateTimeFormat.LongDateTime) but converted into Text(ThisItem.'start time', "dd/mm/yyyy HH:mm")

I have tried every variation of Sort() and SortByColumns() but am unable to sort by the 'start time'

I can easily sort by date or any other field with either Sort(Table1, <column name>, Ascending) or SortByColumns(Table1, "<column name>", Ascending.

However, when I try to use Sort(Table1, 'start time', Ascending) or SortByColumns(Table1, "Start Time", Ascending), I get the message "we didnt find any data to show at this time.

It is not that it is failing to sort, it is failing to show any data at all when using 'start time' as the sorted column.

I have tried to convert the column to a number, Value(Text(ThisItem.'start time', "HHmm"), a datetime Text(DateTimeValue(ThisItem.'start time') "dd/mm/yyy HH:mm" / DateTimeValue(ThisItem.'start time', DateTimeFormat.LongTimeDate), and a time, Text(TimeValue(ThisItem.'start time'), "HH:mm")

No matter how I format the column, Sort() and SortByColumn() return zero results and leave my table blank.

For context, I am try to show the remaining appointments scheduled for the day with something like;

Sort(Filter(Filter(Table1, date = Text(Now(), "yy-mm-dd")),  'start time' > TimeValue(Now())), 'start time', Ascending)

My first suggestion is to check the date, add the date to a label and check if that is the same format as the date field in your datasource. Please can you share a screenshot of this?

Excel is your source, you say?

Maybe try extracting the day, month, and year to different number columns and sort them by those...

As mentioned above, I can sort by the day without issue. In this case I am filtering for only appointments that occur today. The issue when trying to sort by the time of the appointment

What format is the start time column? If it's Time or Date time format, it's not possible to populate the values into PowerApps. Please use Text columns instead.

When using Text function, it's just convert the format of values that have retrieved from the data source. However, the Excel connection only retrieve blank values from Excel table when they are of type Time or Date time.
