Hello,
Have a simple app that has two screens. There's one text input box on the first screen that reports back the info from two SharePoint lists across these two screens. The first SharePoint list reports back to screen 1 within half a second, but when navigating to the second screen these results take about ten second or several back and forths between the two screens. The lists are only three records big as this is a proof of concept. Is there anyway to update/ refresh the second screen when navigating to it? Currently using the lookup function for the labels. Have tried several refresh via the onvisible property on the screen and labels, but nothing yet

I agree - direct reference is generally always preferable to an intermediate Variable.
Hi @David_Howarth ,
Firstly what is the Item and DataSource of both Forms (in Text please)
The items are individual labels, not within a gallery. Using the Lookup formula
Datasource is a SharePoint list
Hope this helps
While the data sources share a common input, each screen relies on a distinct SharePoint list to retrieve its specific set of values.
Then you will reliant on the Default values of the various controls. Also what connection is there between the two data sources. You have not given me much to work with here - I need to understand what values are being refreshed and how they are being displayed.
There's no direct connection between the two datasources, but they share a unique ID field. The reason for having two datasources is that more columns will be added as this workflow is rolled out.
Regarding data source refreshing, I've not written anything to prompt this outside of the programmes default settings. Thus when screen 2 is loaded I imagine that it takes time to get the global variable of the textinputbox from screen 1 and refresh screen 2's labels.
Overall the user inputs in a text box a unique record number. Within screen 1 there are labels that use the lookup formula to search SharePoint list A and return one of the column's value. Formula is
Your insights prompted me to consider data latency issues. As a newcomer to Power Apps, I wasn't initially aware that a different screen could reference a TextInput control from the home screen. Consequently, I addressed the perceived delay by updating the labels on Screen 2 to directly retrieve text from the input box on Screen 1 and this works. It appears that there might be a delay, caused by myself, in the global variable instantly updating itself based on the TextInput control.
I agree - direct reference is generally always preferable to an intermediate Variable.
Thanks for your help, as read whilst upskilling that you couldn't directly ref items on other screens and they had to be passed or set as global variables
