Variables for Current date and time

Hi all

I am trying to write a simple app, where the user hits a button to add current date and time into a field when the task (job) is completed. The data for this field is held in a variable - Set(var_datetimesoy, CurrentDateTime); SubmitForm(Form1)  and then the form is submitted to the sharepoint list.

This all works very well for the first job, but when the next job is accessed the date and time field already populated with the data for the previous record (because of course I am using the same variable (var_datetimesoy))

In theory there should be a number of hours between each job starting

My question is, how can I have a new record show a blank field for the date and time, until the button to end the task is pressed?

Can I have separate variables for each record??

Could you tell me:

• Do you want the value of var_datetimesoy to be empty when you switch to the second record?

I have two solutions:

Solution1:Reset the value of var_datetimesoy to null when submitting the form.For example:

SubmitForm(Form1);Set(var_datetimesoy,Blank())

It will be empty until the user resets var_datetimesoy next time.

Solution2:Use a Timer control to keep refreshing the value of var_datetimesoy to ensure that the value of var_datetimesoy changes dynamically.

Add a timer control

Duration

2000 /*loop in 2s*/

OnTimerEnd

 Set(var_datetimesoy, Now());

Repeat

true

Visible

false /*make this control unvisible*/

Hey @v-bofeng-msft 

Thanks for your reply and solutions. I used your solution 1 which worked well, except that as soon as the form was submitted the field cleared. This could cause confusion as I didn't want this to happen until a new record was called. I got around the by using your 

Set(var_datetimesoy,Blank())

and putting it into the gallery navigation arrow. As soon as the new record is clicked, the data is cleared.

I also like your solution 2, which I will try - I have a timer already running so I can get the current date/time. It will be easy for me to adapt that timer to what you have suggested.
