how to update a combobox after an add

Hello,

I created an application with a combobox that displays the list of clients.

menu_A.png

When a client does not exist, he can create it by clicking on the icon and the user will be redirected to another screen with a text field.
menu_B.pngmenu_C.png

After validating the user return to the main page.

menu_D.png

The problem is that when the user wants to select the new client, it does not appear.

he appears by writing the first letters of his name.

How can I make the new client appear in the combobox?

Thanks for your help
.

Hi @Anonymous ,

Does the Form1 and Form3 connect to same SP List data source?

Is the NomClient column a LookUp column or a Choice type column? Is it a LookUp column which reference the column value from the CustomerList?

Based on the scenario you mentioned, I suppose that the NomClient column is a LookUp column in your TimeSheet list, which references values from the column in your CustomerList, is it true?

Please consider modify your OnSelect formula within the validated button to following:

SubmitForm(Form3);;
Set(resetCB; false);;
Set(resetCB; true);;
Refresh(CustomerList);;Refresh(TimeSheet);; /* <-- Add this formula. Refresh your TimeSheet data source */
ResetForm(Form1);;NewForm(Form1);;          /* <-- Add this formula */
Navigate('Success operation');;

Please consider take a try with above solution, check if the issue is solved.

@Anonymous

I was not able to recreate your issue on my side.  Can you please share your code used to add the new client into the datasource?

In the meantime, I have two general ideas you can try.  The first is you could Refresh the datasource after the new client is added.

Refresh(your_datasource_name);

The second idea is to try resetting your ComboBox.  Use this code after adding your new client.

Set(resetCB,true);Set(resetCB,false);

Then use this code in the Reset property of your ComboBox

resetCB

hello @mdevaney  ,thanks for your return.

I used this code, so that the user validates the form, refresh the list, display the success operation message and new basic form.

SubmitForm (Form3) ;; Refresh (ClientList) ;; Navigate ('Success Operation') ;; NewForm (Form1);

and this code :

Update (fx)

@Anonymous
Did you try the Reset suggestion? I haven’t tested that on my side but I want to eliminate the possibility.

Next question, what data source are you using?

I use two sharepoint lists.

the first "TimeSheet" list is used to save the times and the second "ListClient" list is used in the "TimeSheet" list

I tried these methods:

- property DataCardValue10 : reset : true

(DataCardValue10 is the first combobox that displays the list of customers)

new client button property :

SubmitForm (Form3) ;; Refresh (ClientList) ;; Reset (DataCardValue10) ;; Navigate ('Success operation') ;; NewForm (Form1) ;;

When I leave the application and restart it, I have the information.

can you tell me where we put your code?

Set (resetCB, true); Set (resetCB, false);

Hi @Anonymous ,

Could you please share more details about the formula you typed within the Items property of the Client ComboBox?

Please consider take a try with the following workaround:

Modify your "Validation" formula as below:

SubmitForm(Form3);;
Set(resetCB, false);;Set(resetCB, true);;         /* <-- Add Reset formula here */
Refresh(ClientList);;
Navigate('Success Operation');;
NewForm(Form1);

then set the Reset property of the DataCardValue10 (Client ComboBox) to following:

resetCB

Please consider take a try with above solution, check if the issue is solved.

Based on the needs that you mentioned, I think it is not necessary to navigate to another screen to add new Client option, instead, you could consider type Searck text within the Client ComboBox (DataCardValue10) as new Client Option directly, then when you submit your form data, the typed search text value (new client option) would be saved back to your SP List.

Please make sure the Update property of the Client Data card (which contains the DataCardValue10) in your Edit form to following:

If(
    !IsBlank(DataCardValue10.Selected),
    DataCardValue10.Selected,
    !IsBlank(DataCardValue10.SearchText),
    {
        Value: DataCardValue10.SearchText
    }
)

hi @v-xida-msft

I apply your remarks:

- added code in the update property of Liste_Client_DataCard1:
picture1

- in the items property of datacardvalue10 I have Choices([@TimeSheet].NomClient)
picture2

-in the reset property of datacardvalue10 I resetCB
picture3

- in the addclient screen in the validated button I put this code in the OnSelect property:
SubmitForm (Form3) ;; Set (resetCB; false) ;; Set (resetCB; true) ;; Refresh (CustomerList) ;; Navigate ('Success operation') ;;
