new line in excel not visible in power app drop doown menu

Hi all,

How can I show the blank row which I added later in my excel sheet in my power app?

I added this line to show it as the first line in my drop down menu.

We can reproduce what you are facing right now.

We resolved it like this:

1) Delete the entire column __PowerAppsId__ from Excel File then close Excel Online

2) REMOVE the data source "OneDrive for Business" (Connector) from the Power App

3) ADD AGAIN the data source "OneDrive for Business" (Connector) from the Power App (i.e. also select the correct file and correct table again when prompted to).

4) Done

Note: Steps 2 and 3 are intentional. Refreshing the OneDrive data source is not enough according to our testing. it must be removed and re-added. Also, Step 1 must be done first before Step 2 and 3, or it also will not work to do just Step 2 and 3 by themselves.

See if this works.

Thanks, this working fine now.

However, in one of my dropdown menus, the actual value is not shown anymore....

The code is as follows:

can you please advise me with this as well?

If that is the drop down and corresponding Excel column is the one that you actually happened to try to add the first row as blank value on the Excel file on, well then actually in your case, the fact it is blank on the first value - that means it is working correctly now.

In your case, the empty one is first.

That's why.

If you click on the drop down the options should still be over there.

Also, note that every time you add a new value manually by Excel Online you need to do those steps again we gave you.

It doesn't matter if it is blank value or not blank value. What you saw was not because the value was blank. The same steps must be done anyway.  The new value does not show until you do those steps we gave you each time you add new value there manually by Excel Online. Even if it is a blank row, or even it is not a blank row.

To try it for real to be clear, make a non-blank value for the first one, non blank for second one, blank for third, non blank for fourth, and non blank for fifth and make them very different from before. Then you will notice it will still not update. Then try the steps again we just gave in the recent reply. Then it will work and show in the drop down accordingly with updated values. Hopefully this makes it more clear.

Thanks for your reply, this is highly appreciated.

My question is related to the edit screen of the app. 

Normally, the value from the excel sheet is mentioned here and you can change it through the drop down menu.

However, no the value is blank in de edit screen.

With the other drop down menu (cool_medium) it is woking fine.

Maybe you have an advise for me in this?

In this code:

Usually it should be separated by commas not semicolons in that kind of formula.  However maybe in your locale or region it is supposed to be like that, we are not sure. Check it and let us know.

Or also change it to Parent.Default to test to check it.

The semicolon is indeed a result of local setteings. 

I changed the default setting to Parent.Default and then it shows the default value in the edit mode. So far so good.

However, If I want to add a new record, it also shows the same value, now it should show the blank value of the drop down menu....

That means it was correct before actually, because you want only to show value when the form is in Edit mode. That with the Parent.Default was just for troubleshooting step.

So now try checking in one of the other fields Default property where it is already working correctly, and see what may be the difference between the ones where it is correct, and this one where seems not to work:
