sending email with condition

Hi,

I am in need of help to incorporate some changes in my apps developed by powerapps.

## @ links to members, content:

I want to send email to some specific person when selected a value from dropdown list and send email to another person when selected another value from dropdown list.

## I want to send this email by clicking submit button with the user input field

Can anyone help me out ?I will be grateful........

Hi @MKMUMU ,

Firstly, you will need to either hard-code the email required for the drop-down value or have a reference list with the name required (for the drop-down) and their email address. Assuming you have the second, you could use the Office365Outlook.SendEmail connector to send the mail. The Items property of the drop-down would be

YourReferenceListName.YourNameField

So as an example, a button could do this

Office365Outlook.SendEmail(
   Lookup(
      YourReferenceListName,
      YourNameField = YourDropdownName.Selected.YourNameField,
      YourEmailFieldName
   ),
   "Subject content here",
   "Body content here"
)

I have a dropdown named "areadrop" with items   

["Select the Department","IT","Brand","CD","Finance","Supply Chain","HR"]

and a dropdown named "appdrop" with items

actually i want to set particular name for emailing for selecting particular dropdown.

For example,if one selects area:HR,and application :HLW,then send email to some particular people and if select Area:HR and application:HI,then send email to another particular person.

The easiest way would be a collection - firstly if you are sending the mail based on the Department, fairly easy - you could run at App OnStart

   colEmails,
   {
      Dept: "IT",
      MailAdd: "IT@xxx.com"
   },
   {
      Dept: "Brand",
      MailAdd: "Brand@xxx.com"
   },
   {
      Dept: "CD",
      MailAdd: "CD@xxx.com"
   },
   {
      Dept: "Finance",
      MailAdd: "Finance@xxx.com"
   },
   {
      Dept: "Supply Chain",
      MailAdd: "SupplyChain@xxx.com"
   },
   {
      Dept: "HR",
      MailAdd: "HR@xxx.com"
   }
)

A lot more coding if you want the other dropdown.

The email would be

Office365Outlook.SendEmail(
   Lookup(
      colEmails,
      Dept = areadrop.Selected.Value,
      MailAdd
   ),
   "Subject content here",
   "Body content here"
)

First of all thanks a lot ......

I have paste those first portion code on App-->OnStart and the other portion on the submit button...But Submit button is showing error to me.Let me tell you i have exactly paste your solution,didn't change anything and i have office365user as my connection list also.

I have just run the exact code and put my email in IT and received a mail.

NOTE:  If testing, you need to run App OnStart (three dots to the right of App the Run OnStart to get the collection). In normal running, this will happen when opening.
