set new form choice default value on button click

hello everyone ,

i created canvas app DataSource from Sharepoint list and there is choice column from list and now for example i have choice column which is from list and show these 5 category (1 HR departments, 2 is department, asset department, 4 Qa department ,5 Opening department. )now i want to customize like this I set 2 different button on screen 1 which is for create form on screen 2 .  i want 1 button show choice value only 4 categories and another button show only 1 category how do i set the formula when i will click on button1 will redirect on new form and only show opening department by default and when i click on button 2 will redirect on same form screen but show me all category ? please suggest me how do is set the formula ? 

in my app 

button name : 1 button name is AllDropButton

another button name is : Opening Button

datacard name is :

Hi @mbhatt,

Okay, so:

1). you have two buttons on the same screen,

2). one will direct you to the new form with the ComboBox including opening department option by default

3). another one will direct you to the same new form with the ComboBox including all the options

To achieve the above need, you just need to:

1). set the OnSelect property of the AllDropButton as below:

NewForm(Form1);Set(varItems,Choices(list.Category))

2). set the OnSelect property of the Opening Button as below:

NewForm(Form1);Set(varItems,Filter(Choices(list.Category),Value="Opening Department"))

3). Set the Items property of the ComboBox as the variable

now with your provided formula i applied but nothing happen when i click even not able to see any choices even i click manually something is missing.

I have found that you have named the variable with varItems, but you refer to varItem in the Items property.

😂Item property of the Form expects a record, which I don't know how you should configure it, generally, we have a Gallery and we populate the Item property with Gallery.Selected.

All the varaible should be set for the Items property of a ComboBox instead of a Form.

this is form from list to can create new record ,for add the data this is not gallery or view form 

for view my records from gallery i apply gallery.selected on view form screen item property 

is possible that on opening button click select only opening category default ??

and dropdown button on select  all of category I will add choose manually that's not problem
