Newbie building first power app for teams. Setup data fields in dataverse for teams building out ui or trying. This is not as easy as the videos show… so I have some fields that are yes/no. I want to use check box in UI. How do I tell the check box what data field I want it to record the yes if checked. Default I want to be unchecked for NO. I don’t want the value to be sent to the database until the submit button is pushed. I’m trying to use what powerapps built when I finished the data model. It threw up text fields for the database fields and want to swap a check box instead of text. This seems overly complicated. I guess flying an airplane seems complicated if you’ve never done it.

If(Checkbox1.Checked, 
     '(ColumnName' (TableName)'.Yes, 
     '(ColumnName' (TableName)'.NO
)

Hello, @Maverick24, use the Checkbox1.Value that will return true if checked and false if unchecked. So in your DataCard you need to inserted the Checkbox control. Then in the DataCard Update property use this formula:

If(Checkbox1.Value, YourYesNoFieldName.Yes, YourYesNoFieldName.NO)

NOTE: YourYesNoFieldName << Replace this with your actual field name.

@AhmedSalih Thanks for the reply. Working hard to give you a Solution banner and a thumbs up. I still am failing here. Driving me crazy. I want to give you the most information I can. Not sure if it matters, but I'm building this in Power Apps for Teams, and I'm using Dataverse for Teams. I have deleted this datacard and tried this a dozen times. The field in the Dataverse table is called "Home Depot Card" the field type is Yes/No by default when I add the feild to the Edit Form "Form1" it sets it up as a Drop down with Yes / No. The field is not required in the Dataverse Database and in the Dataverse Database I said No was default.

I first unlock the Data Card called "Home Depot Card_DataCard1", I then insert a Check Box and it by default says "Checkbox" beside the Check box. I tried your suggestion and it doesn't like the formula. This can't be that difficult..sigh.

Also the Table is named "New Team Member" The field / column in that table is called "Home Depot Card"

Data Type = "Yes/no"

You need the single quotes.
