Fill option for label missing in model driven app custom page that is canvas

Hi

I have model driven app. I created a columnheader container and inside inserted labels to have column names. The funny thing is it is missing fill option so i can not fill the label with color. I can fill the whole container but then upon setting gap it will not add me this beautifull  small gap between columns? 

is there a workaround?

Note: 

I tried below 2 scinario's

1. Adding Container and Changed Label color too

2. Added Label with Color then i add it into Container

I didn't mention i am adding a responsive container and inside adding a label

And you here probably created a canvas app and not the custom page inside model driven app

I found a workaround. I use buttons instead of labels and it can be colored
